AUTHOR BIO
B.D. Rowe is a Sacramento native with a penchant for crafting tales of romance, mystery, and intrigue. You can often find B.D. at the local coffee shop drinking white chocolate mochas and writing into the wee hours of the night. This is B.D.'s first New Adult novel.

This book has a little bit of everything: heartache, longing, romance and humor. It definitely held my interest and was highly emotional. The pain Sydney feels every day is sad to watch but when she finds a little happiness in the people around her, you know she isn't completely lost. Her best friend Lukas was my favorite character with his sense of humor and quirky personality. Evan was sweet, caring and sexy as hell but his deceptions towards the end really bothered me. Although it isn't among my top reads of the year, I did enjoy it and glad I had the chance to read it! Recommend to New Adult readers that love the high angst factor.

College sophomore Sydney Baker has been dealt a pretty hard hand, being the only survivor in a horrific drunk driving accident in high school. Dealing with so much death at a young age has left permanent scars and tremendous guilt for her lack of stopping the events that led up to the accident. Now Sydney is trying to navigate her way through college, where the pressure to drink to fit in is at its highest.

But that's not Sydney's only obstacle, she can't stop fantasizing about her roommate Melanie's boyfriend, Evan Taylor. They share a mutual attraction and enjoy hanging out together. Unfortunately, their time together is coming to an end with the close of the school year, no longer able to hide under the cover of being in the same class as an excuse to meet.

But when Melanie tragically dies after a night of partying, Sydney and Evan find comfort in each other's company, pushing past grief and finding a close friendship they would have never had otherwise. Soon the friendship becomes too much for Sydney, she's loved him for too long to keep her feelings hidden anymore. Lucky for her, Evan feels the same and their relationship deepens. Life couldn't be any better for her, Evan, her new roommate Lukas and his Ginger Boy Toy Robert.

Secrets from the night Melanie died soon put her relationship with Evan to the ultimate test when Melanie's sister comes into the picture. She brings to life Sydney's greatest fear in the end, losing everything she has tried to hold together since that night years ago.
